Meditation in Berkeley

Came to Berkeley from Japan. My mind was agitated. Looked for meditation classes in newspapers. One local ad caught my eyes. ! hour introductory meditation class, it was free.

I went to the address mentioned. There was a empty room to meditate. A woman came to help me. Before I closed my eyes to meditate, she put on large sized photo of her “guru” in front of me, and told me looking at it, and concentrating on him, and chanting some words which I have forgotten, would help immensely.

One hour passed on. I was invited to the ashram to get more advanced training next time.

I said “namaste” and was out.
